Forde Training Services provide construction plant and safety training to businesses and individuals throughout central Scotland. We take the time to invest in our own staff and maintain a modern and up-to-date fleet of plant & equipment in order to achieve business excellence in pursuit of our vision.

Our goal is to reinforce our position as a market leader in specialist training in construction plant machinery in West Lothian. We provide first class service to our customers whether it is at our training facilities or at your place of work.

OUR HISTORY

Forde Training Services was founded by Stewart Scobie in 2009. Stewart’s journey in the construction and plant industry began almost from birth. At just one year old, he accompanied his father, Jim – who later became Scotland’s first CPCS instructor – to work sites, with Stewart’s cot sitting in the toolbox beside him in the cab during demolition work.

Growing up around machinery, Stewart gained hands-on experience from an early age, shaping his future career. By the time he entered full-time work, he was already highly skilled, operating a wide range of plant machinery across construction and demolition projects throughout Scotland.

In 2007, after years of practical experience, Stewart decided to focus on developing others. After achieving CPCS, NPORS, RTITB, SVQ and NVQ Instructor and Assessor qualifications, he launched Forde Training Services with a clear vision: to deliver high-quality, practical training for individuals and businesses across Scotland.

Over the past 17 years, Forde Training Services has grown from a small start-up into one of Scotland’s leading training providers, recognised for professionalism, expertise and a strong commitment to learner success. Today, we continue Stewart’s mission—delivering hands-on training that helps people build skills, confidence and safe, successful careers.

Our team is the backbone of everything we do. Led by our experienced Managing Director, Stewart Scobie, our highly qualified and experienced team work seamlessly to deliver professional, well-structured training across CPCS, NPORS and heavy plant machinery. From expert instruction on site to clear guidance and support behind the scenes, each member of the team plays a vital role in ensuring every course is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
