THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO:
Provide the candidate with the theoretical and practical knowledge involved in operating the to NPORS standards.
WHO DO WE RECOMMEND ATTENDS THE COURSE?
A Bench Saw course is recommended for new or experienced operators, carpenters, joiners, and site workers who use or oversee bench saws in construction, woodworking, or manufacturing environments.
COURSE SUMMARY

Understand the purpose, components, and controls of the bench saw

Follow manufacturer’s instructions, safety procedures, and regulations

Perform pre-use checks and ensure safe machine setup

Select, fit, and change blades correctly

Make accurate and controlled cuts on various materials

Maintain safe working practices and use appropriate PPE

Identify and manage potential hazards
-
Carry out safe shutdown, cleaning, and maintenance procedures

Operate the bench saw in line with NPORS standards

Training and testing can be carried out at your site premises providing site specifications can be met.
COURSE DURATION
1 Day
HEALTH & SAFETY TRAINING / TESTING
Candidates are required to have passed the CITB Health, Safety & Environmental test within the past 24 months to obtain the NPORS CSCS Trained Operator card. This test is not mandatory for the Traditional card but can be added upon request.
TESTING / CERTIFICATION
All candidates will complete the Full NPORS Theory & Practical Test and on successful completion will be issued with A 5 year NPORS Traditional Operator card or a 2 year NPORS CSCS Trained Operator card.
