THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO:
To provide candidates with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely and effectively operate a brush cutter/strimmer in accordance with NPORS standards, workplace regulations, and manufacturer guidelines.
WHO DO WE RECOMMEND ATTENDS THE COURSE?
The Brush Cutter/Strimmer course is for anyone who uses this equipment at work, such as landscapers, grounds staff, or maintenance operatives. It provides the skills and knowledge to operate safely and efficiently to NPORS standards.
COURSE SUMMARY
- Covers safe and efficient operation of brush cutters and strimmers.
- Focuses on legislation, PPE, and risk assessment.
- Teaches pre-use checks, machine setup, and maintenance.
- Demonstrates correct cutting techniques and safe working practices.
- Highlights environmental awareness and noise/vibration control.
- Includes practical assessment and theory test.
LOCATIONS
Training and testing can be carried out at our training centre, or at your site premises providing site specifications can be met.
COURSE DURATION
1-2 days depending on experience and candidate numbers
HEALTH & SAFETY TRAINING / TESTING
Candidates are required to have passed the CITB Health, Safety & Environmental test within the past 24 months to obtain the NPORS CSCS Trained Operator card. This test is not mandatory for the Traditional card but can be added upon request.
TESTING / CERTIFICATION
All candidates will complete the Full NPORS Theory & Practical Test and on successful completion will be issued with A 5 year NPORS Traditional Operator card or a 2 year NPORS CSCS Trained Operator card.
