THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO:
The 180 Excavator Course aims to equip candidates with the core theoretical understanding and practical skills necessary to operate the machine safely and effectively. The programme ensures that participants develop the competence to perform all operations in accordance with NPORS standards.
WHO DO WE RECOMMEND ATTENDS THE COURSE?
The 180 Excavator Course is recommended for individuals who operate or intend to operate a 180 excavator as part of their job role, including plant operators, construction workers, and site personnel. It is also suitable for those seeking NPORS certification or wishing to enhance their existing skills and knowledge in excavator operation.
COURSE SUMMARY

Understanding the role and responsibilities of a plant operator within the construction industry.

Identifying principal components, controls, and terminology.

Complying with manufacturer’s requirements, legislation, and regulations.

Completing pre-use checks and configuring the excavator for travel and work.

Travelling safely over various terrains and manoeuvring in confined spaces.

Setting up for and carrying out excavating, grading, and loading operations.

Managing hazards, underground, and overhead services.

Attaching and removing buckets and handling basic slung loads.

Performing shutdown, securing, and machine transport procedures.
- NPORS Theory & Practical Assessments
LOCATIONS
Training and testing can be carried out at our training centre, or at your site premises providing site specifications can be met.
COURSE DURATION
1-10 days depending on experience and candidate numbers.
HEALTH & SAFETY TRAINING / TESTING
Candidates are required to have passed the CITB Health, Safety & Environmental test within the past 24 months to obtain the NPORS CSCS Trained Operator card. This test is not mandatory for the Traditional card but can be added upon request.
TESTING / CERTIFICATION
All candidates will complete the Full (Theory & Practical) NPORS Technical Test and on successful completion will be issued with a CPCS Red Trained Operators Card
