The First Aid for Mental Health – FAA Level 5 Award (Scotland) is a comprehensive 1-day accredited course designed to provide learners with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to support mental health in the workplace.
Building on the foundation of the Level 4 (½-day) Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health, this course not only teaches participants how to recognise common mental health conditions, but also how to start supportive conversations and signpost individuals to appropriate professional help.
What the course covers
In addition to the core awareness content, this Level 5 qualification expands further to include:
- The impact of alcohol and substance misuse on mental health
- The use of a structured First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan
- Practical strategies to promote and maintain a positive mental health culture within the workplace
