THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO:
The IPAF Static Boom 1B Course is a training programme designed to provide operators with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate Static Boom (1B) Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs).
WHAT IS A STATIC BOOM (1B)
Static Boom 1B machines are vehicle- or trailer-mounted boom lifts that remain stationary while in use. They are commonly used for tasks at height such as maintenance, installation, inspection, and tree work. These machines are stabilised using outriggers and are operated from a platform or cage.
COURSE CONTENT
The course combines classroom-based theory with practical training and assessment. Topics typically include:

DURATION & CERTIFICATION
The course is generally completed in one day, depending on prior experience and the number of candidates.
Upon successful completion, candidates are issued with an IPAF PAL Card (Powered Access License), which is valid for five years.
