THE AIM OF THIS QUALIFICATION:
The aim of a Level 5 Lifting Operations VQ (Vocational Qualification) is to assess learners who have the knowledge, skills, and practical competence to plan, manage, and oversee complex lifting operations safely and in compliance with health, safety, and legal requirements.
WHO DO WE RECOMMEND FOR THIS QUALIFICATION?
The Level 5 Lifting Operations Appointed Person qualification is recommended for individuals who are, or will be, designated as Appointed Persons responsible for planning, organising, and controlling lifting operations, including the preparation of lift plans and ensuring compliance with legal and safety requirements.
THE CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO:

LOCATIONS
The SVQ in Lifting Operations is assessed through practical, site-based evaluations to demonstrate competence in real working conditions.
ASSESSMENT DURATION
1 Day.
CERTIFICATION
Upon successful completion, candidates receive a site‑assessed SVQ Lifting Operations certification, verifying their competence, skills, and knowledge in Lifting Operations safely and effectively. The certification is nationally recognized and demonstrates compliance with industry and health and safety standards.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have successfully completed a CSCS Health & Safety Manager & Professionals test within the last 24 months and hold a current, valid CPCS or NPORS trained operator card to be eligible to start the VQ.
