THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO:
The Lorry Loader (HIAB) course is designed to provide candidates with the essential theoretical and practical knowledge required to safely and efficiently operate the machine in accordance with NPORS standards.
WHO DO WE RECOMMEND ATTENDS THE COURSE?
A Lorry Loader (HIAB) course is recommended for new or experienced operators, drivers, supervisors, and site workers who operate, load, or oversee lorry-mounted cranes in construction, logistics, transport, or industrial environments.
COURSE SUMMARY

Gain understanding of industry hazards and operator responsibilities

Learn manufacturer requirements, legislation, and safe working practices

Identify and explain main components and controls of the lorry loader crane

Conduct pre-use and safety checks in accordance with regulations

Configure and prepare the vehicle and crane for travel and lifting operations
-
Operate safely over various terrains and in confined areas
-
Correctly deploy stabilisers and comply with rated capacity indicators

Identify load weights, centres of gravity, and use appropriate lifting accessories

Carry out lifting, positioning, and securing of loads safely and accurately

Fit and remove attachments correctly and minimise load swing
-
Complete safe shutdown and end-of-shift procedures in line with NPORS standards

LOCATIONS
Training and testing can be carried out at our training centre, or at your site premises providing site specifications can be met.
COURSE DURATION
1- 3 days depending on experience and candidate numbers
HEALTH & SAFETY TRAINING / TESTING
Candidates are required to have passed the CITB Health, Safety & Environmental test within the past 24 months to obtain the NPORS CSCS Trained Operator card. This test is not mandatory for the Traditional card but can be added upon request.
TESTING / CERTIFICATION
All candidates will complete the Full NPORS Theory & Practical Test and on successful completion will be issued with A 5 year NPORS Traditional Operator card or a 2 year NPORS CSCS Trained Operator card.
