THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO:
Provide candidates with the theoretical and practical knowledge to CPCS standards required by fitters and mechanics who test machinery following servicing or repairs, without performing the machine’s intended operational functions.
THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE ARE TO ENABLE DELEGATES TO:
- Be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers requirements.
- Carry out a pre-shift operational safety checks.
- Be able to operate safely under varying site conditions.
- Have correct knowledge and practical skills to successfully complete the CPCS Technical Test.

Designed for mechanics and fitters responsible for testing machinery post-service or repair, without engaging in the equipment’s normal operational functions
COURSE SUMMARY
Candidates will participate in power point, videos & practical demonstration covering:
- Current and relevant regulations
- Roles and responsibilies of the machine operator
- Introduction to the machine and Pre – Operational safety inspections
- Preparing for working tasks
- Travelling, manoeuvring & operating the machine to accredited standard
- Setting up and shutting down procedures
- CPCS Theory & Practical Assessments
LOCATIONS
Training and testing can be carried out at our training centre, or at your site premises providing site specifications can be met.
COURSE DURATION
1-4 days depending on experience and candidate numbers
HEALTH & SAFETY TRAINING / TESTING
Health & Safety Test Specific to your chosen category MUST be passed before a CPCS Technical Test can be Taken.
TESTING / CERTIFICATION
All candidates will complete the Full (Theory & Practical) CPCS Technical Test and on successful completion will be issued with a CPCS Red Trained Operators Card
