THE AIM OF THE COURSE:

The aim of a Street Works: Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus course is to equip operatives and supervisors with the knowledge and skills to safely identify, locate, and work around existing underground utilities, such as gas, water, electricity, and telecoms. It ensures that street works are carried out without causing damage, minimizing risk to personnel, the public, and infrastructure, while complying with legal and industry standards.

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE ARE TO ENABLE DELEGATES TO:

  • Identify underground apparatus

  • Use pipe and cable locaters

CERTIFICATION

Completion of the course awards a CABWI certificate, confirming competence in safely locating and avoiding underground utilities. The certification is nationally recognised and valid for five years.
