THE AIM OF THE COURSE:

The aim of a Signing, Lighting, and Guarding course is to assess operatives and supervisors who have the knowledge and skills to set up, maintain, and remove traffic management systems safely, ensuring the protection of workers, road users, and the public while complying with legal and industry standards.

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE ARE TO ENABLE DELEGATES TO:

  • Understand legal requirements and responsibilities in traffic management.

  • Learn to safely set up, maintain, and remove signs, barriers, and lighting.

  • Identify hazards and follow safety procedures to protect workers and the public.

  • Minimise disruption to traffic while ensuring site safety.

  • Demonstrate competence through assessments.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE COURSE?

The course should be attended by street works operatives and supervisors involved in setting up, maintaining, or removing traffic management systems to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with legal standards.

COURSE DURATION

CERTIFICATION

Successful candidates will receive a CABWI certificate and an SWQR card, valid for five years, demonstrating compliance with industry standards and legal requirements on site.
